Cerezo: “We all have the commitment to fight against racism”
Enrique Cerezo wishes to clarify some statements he made to the media upon his arrival at the official lunch for the directors of the Madrid derby.
“We have to enjoy a spectacular and exciting match, as all derbies played between both teams are, and in an atmosphere of tranquility and respect. Our fans are always respectful towards our rivals and support our team with passion, but with the values that identify us. When I spoke to several journalists while arriving at the the lunch with Real Madrid, I made a mistake that everyone will have understood as such, but which I prefer to clarify so that there is no misunderstanding. I wanted to say that we all have a commitment to fight against racism. In football and in our stadium there is no place for racism and both our club and our fans have always shown that they are against any expression with racist or xenophobic overtones.”
