BayArena, historic stadium of Bayer Leverkusen
Remodelled in 2009, it can seat 30,000 spectators.
Kown in its beginnings as Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion (in honour of a former president of the pharmacist Bayer, founder of the club), Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s ground will host for third time in its history a visit from Atlético de Madrid, which has played at this stadium a UEFA Europa League match and a UEFA Champions League match in December, 2010 and in February, 2015 respectively.
Rechristened in 1998 as BayArena, it hosts the matches of the German team since 1958, when it already had seating for 20,000. Nevertheless, several remodellings have been done in the coliseum since then, allowing it to seat up to 30,000 spectators.
