RED AND WHITE PASSION SINCE 1903

122 years of Atlético de Madrid

On 26 April 1903, our club was founded, marking the beginning of 122 years of red-and-white history in which, with courage and heart, we have achieved 11 La Liga titles, 10 Spanish Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 3 UEFA Europa League titles, 2 Spanish Super Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 1 European Cup Winners’ Cup, 3 consecutive women’s league titles, 2 Copa de la Reina trophies and 1 Women’s Super Cup.

A group of young Basque students living in Madrid decided to found Athletic Club de Madrid on 26 April 1903, and today, 122 years later, the club is a benchmark in both national and international football. Over these 122 years, our club has played in various stadiums, each contributing to a record of achievements that fills our devoted fanbase with pride. From magical afternoons and nights at Retiro and O'Donnell to the Metropolitano Stadium, via the Estadio del Manzanares, later named the Estadio Vicente Calderón, and finally our current home, initially known as the Wanda Metropolitano, then the Cívitas Metropolitano, and now the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, an iconic ground that stands as a point of pride for loyal fanbase and one of the finest stadiums in Europe. It hosted the Champions League final in 2019, as well as international football matches, rugby, and music events each summer.

Throughout its 122-year history, our club proudly boasts an honours list including 11 La Liga titles, 10 Copa del Rey trophies, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 3 UEFA Europa League titles, 2 Spanish Super Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups and 1 European Cup Winners’ Cup with the men’s first team, alongside 3 consecutive women’s league titles, 2 Copa de la Reina trophies and 1 Women’s Super Cup.
