Augmented reality brings Halloween to the Cívitas Metropolitano
This is the first experience of its kind in Europe and our fans were able to enjoy it during the Atlético de Madrid-Deportivo Alavés match.
Football returned to the Cívitas Metropolitano this Sunday, October 29, with the best atmosphere and a novelty: the use of augmented reality to offer a new experience unique in Europe on the stadium's video scoreboards.
Last season, fans were already able to take advantage of the connectivity of the Cívitas Metropolitano to broadcast their videos live on the stadium's video scoreboards, and now Augmented Reality transformed their signals to take them to the world of Halloween.
A surprising experience in anticipation of the celebration on October 31. A new initiative to add value to the fan's visit, who is the protagonist in their interaction with the stadium's technology.
The experience is the result of an agreement between Atleti Lab, the club's innovation division, and the agency The Famous Group, which offers Snapchat's Camera Kit technology. It is the first experience of its kind in Europe.
Cívitas Metropolitano, at the forefront of Fan Experience
Atlético de Madrid's stadium was conceived as a space where technology is at the service of the fans, making a visit to the Cívitas Metropolitano a different experience. Last May Telefónica and Atlético de Madrid announced a pioneering pilot to visualize matches in a unique way thanks to 5G and virtual reality. Thanks to different 360 cameras located in exclusive areas of the stadium, fans could jump from one camera to another living a unique experience.
On the other hand, members and season ticket holders are the main beneficiaries of the new functionalities that the club has added to its official app in recent months. In addition to the best content and club alerts, season ticket holders now have the possibility of accessing the stadium with a digital replica of their cards, as well as being able to easily transfer their season ticket from the app if they are unable to attend the match.
Finally, the club has added a new space for sales of tickets and food and drinks in the app, which allows members to place their orders in advance and not have to wait in the stadium bars. All these initiatives are aimed at further improving the experience in a stadium that continues to be avant-garde.
