Atletico de Madrid Kolkata is born
As part of its global expansión plan, Atlético de Madrid introduces its first international franchise to the Indian market with Atlético de Madrid Kolkata which will compete in the Indian Super League.
Atlético de Madrid has first been introduced by a group of private investors led by Former Indian Cricketing Legend Sourav Ganguly to the Indian football market, and will collaborate in translating Atlético’s unique characteristics and strong image to Atlético de Madrid Kolkata.
Atlético de Madrid Calcuta will compete against the seven teams in Indian Super League and represent the traditional colors of Rojiblanco.
Through this franchise, the club will work to enhance the level of football in India, and help design a series of growth models relating to sports, commercial opportunities, marketing, and communication. Club Atlético de Madrid will utilize its athletic and management expertise in promoting sports and developing Atlético de Madrid Kolkata.
The managing directors of the club are very pleased with the innovative project and excited to work on the project that will open the door to the promising Indian market.
