The Atlético de Madrid Foundation and Red Cross unite to support flood victims
We will send essential supplies in an initiative that will involve volunteers to deliver them to the hardest-hit areas, and a fundraising campaign is already underway.
Following the severe damage caused by the recent floods brought about by the cold drop, Atlético de Madrid has decided to mobilise to aid the most affected areas.
In partnership with the Red Cross, we have set up a webpage to receive financial contributions. We encourage everyone who can to participate in this campaign and contribute our small part together.
Additionally, this Sunday, ahead of our match against UD Las Palmas at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, our Foundation will set up a dedicated area for collection of supplies outside the stadium near entrances 29 and 30 from 11:00 CET onwards. Therefore, all fans who are interested in helping can donate items such as solar mobile phone chargers, gas stoves for cooking, battery-powered lamps, flashlights, shovels for removing debris and mud, debris bags, gas canisters, bottled water, prepared food, canned goods, personal hygiene products, diapers, baby formula, deodrant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, wipes, baby food, cereals, disposable cutlery, toilet paper, brooms, shower gel, shampoo, hand towels, new blankets, socks, pharmacy and parapharmacy products and feminine and baby hygiene items. This list encompasses the highest priority needs in the hardest hit areas.
All donated supplies will be transported to the outskirts of Utiel and Paiporta, two of the hardest-hit areas, to be distributed to those affected in coordination with the Valencian Community and local authorities. Volunteers from the Atlético de Madrid Foundation will assist with distribution efforts. Additionally, we will work alongside local institutions to offer our help and support in clean-up efforts. The Atlético de Madrid Foundation will also purchase additional supplies to add to the donations received.
In memory of all the victims, the club flag dedicated to our fans outside the Riyadh Air Metropolitano flies at half-mast. Rest in peace.
