"Atleti is a solidary team"
Raúl García, one of the captains of Atlético de Madrid, is Atletico’s image in the video of the campaign to encourage society to recycle glass and will air on Sunday during the game against Barcelona.
On the occasion of the World Day for Recycling, which will be held on Sunday, the 17th of May, Atlético de Madrid’s Foundation and Ecovidrio, a non-profit organisation responsible for the management of the recycling of glass in Spain, have joined forces to raise awareness about the importance of this habit and thus protect the environment.
The presentation event was held at Majadahonda's Sports City and was attended by Adelardo Rodríguez, President of Atlético de Madrid's Foundation, our player Raúl García and Borja Martiarena, Ecovidrio's Marketing Director.
The midfielder and one of the captains of Atlético’s team, Raúl García, has recorded an informative video which makes reference to the values of the Club and the commitment of the Atléticos with the recycling of glass. The material will air on the World Day for Recycling, on the video scoreboards of the Vicente Calderón and during the Atlético de Madrid - FC Barcelona match.
Raúl García noted in the event that took place at the Sports City that “it's always important for everyone to do their bit. For me, it's not an effort to recycle, but it has to be done daily and you have to be aware.”
The midfielder from Navarra said that “I recycle since I was taught how important it is for the environment. Now that I'm a parent, I want to instill these values in my daughter, as it was done to me.”
He also commented that “Atleti is a solidary team, like the glass and the people who recycle.”
