Another record falls at the hands of Thibaut
In Vigo, Courtois became the keep who has remained unbeaten away from home for the longest (681 minutes) in the history of Atletico. Thibaut is also heading for the Zamora trophy.
They number of adjectives is running out when looking to describe the season Thibaut Courtois is having at Atletico Madrid. The keeper, at just 20 years old has needed just two seasons at the club on the banks of the Manzanares to put his name in the clubs history books.
After completing 820 minutes unbeaten against Real Sociedad last March 10th he become the goalkeeper with most consecutive minutes without conceding so many at home, Thibaut Courtois has now broken that same record but this time away from the Vicente Calderon.
Fate has directed the Belgian keeper to beat the record set in the 90-91 season. Resino a coach at Celta Vigo saw in person as Courtois exceeded 17 minutes of the first half without conceding a goal, snatching the prestige of occupying the first position in the list of goalkeepers who have spent the most minutes unbeaten away from the Atletico Madrid stadium.
Courtois racked up 681 minutes without conceding away from home. A huge influence from the Belgian, but as Diego Pablo Simeone already said, the whole team has played its part.
