His debut with Atlético de Madrid took longer than expected as he had to undergo surgery. On July 25, 2015, that 20-year-old boy from Rosario (Santa Fe, Argentina) who arrived after being a revelation in San Lorenzo and in the league, was able to wear the Red & White shirt for the first time. He did it against Numancia in a friendly in which he also scored a goal.

Since then, Angelito has played 350 official matches and has become a very important player in the squad. In fact, in the last preseason he wore the captain's armband against Juventus when Koke was substituted. In addition, he is already the third foreign player who has played the most times with Atlético de Madrid, after Diego Godín and Jan Oblak.

On September 19, 2015, Correa scored the first of his 63 goals so far after an assist from Fernando Torres. 350 games at Atlético de Madrid that have allowed him to lift a League, a Europa League and a European Super Cup.
