Agreement with Celta de Vigo over the transfer of Jonny
The Spanish left-back will join our club on a six-year deal and will immediately join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a one-year loan.
Atlético de Madrid and Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement over the transfer of 24-year-old left-back Jonny Castro. The Spaniard will join our club on a six-year deal.
A versatile defender, right footed Jonny mainly plays as a left-back although he can occupy other defensive positions. A Celta academy product, Jonny played 221 matches for the Galician team before signing for our club.
Not yet a full Spanish international, Jonny has had success with the Youth National Team and won the European U-19 Championship with Spain.
For the upcoming season, Jonny will be loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C in the Premier League.
