World champions Spain set to face England at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on 15 November
The Matchday 6 fixture, the final round of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League group stage, will pit the winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against the tournament's third-placed side.
The Riyadh Air Metropolitano will host Spain's UEFA Nations League clash with England on Sunday 15 November, kicking off at 20:45 CET. The Matchday 6 fixture, the final round of the 2026/27 group stage, promises to be a blockbuster encounter between the newly crowned world champions, a squad that included Rojiblancos Álex Baena, Marcos Llorente, Marc Pubill and Alejandro Grimaldo, and the third-placed team from the tournament. The match could prove decisive in a highly competitive group that also features Croatia and Czech Republic.
It will be the fourth time the Spain men's national team has played at our stadium, where they remain unbeaten. In their previous appearances at our home stadium, La Roja recorded a 6-1 victory over Argentina on 27 March 2018, with Diego Costa scoring Spain's first-ever goal at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. That was followed by a 5-0 win over Romania on 18 November 2019. Spain also drew 0-0 with Portugal on 4 June 2021, with all three fixtures being international friendlies.
Our stadium also hosted the second leg of the 2025 UEFA Women's Nations League final on 2 December 2025, when Spain secured the title with a 3-0 victory over Germany; a match that set an attendance record for a Spain women's national team fixture, with 55,843 spectators.
