WE PAY HOMAGE TO ONE OF OUR GREATEST LEGENDS

We will pay tribute to Luis Aragonés in our club membership cards for the 2019/20 season

Our club membership cards for the 2019/20 season will commemorate the figure of Luis Aragonés, one of the greatest 'rojiblanco' legends. Following the presence in the last season of José Eulogio Gárate, for the upcoming season, we’ll homage Luis Aragonés, remembering one of the best players of our history.

Temporada 19/20 | Carnet de socio Luis AragonésThe 2019/20’s club membership cards will pay tribute to Luis Aragonés, one of the greatest legends of our club. In this way, all the Red & White members, both season ticket holders and who are not, will have the figure of the mythical player and atlético coach engraved on their cards, thus remembering a little piece of our history.

It continues with the homage to our history and our legends thanks to this tribute on the membership cards of the atlético family, which began last season with the tribute to José Eulogio Gárate, who won three consecutive Pichichi trophies, which had placed him as one of the best forwards for all the atléticos.

It was in 1964 when the story of Luis Aragonés began at Atlético de Madrid. Since then, his whole life would be linked to the Red & White history. As a player he was one of the most talented players that the Red & White fans remember. Throughout his 370 official matches as a player he left all for these colours lifting three leagues (1966, 1970 and 1973) and two cups (1965 and 1972).

But he didn't stop there, Luis Aragonés went from the pitch to the bench and he did it in the club of his life to become one of the most relevant coaches, not only of Atlético, but also of Spanish football. He is the coach who has directed the most matches for Atlético, winning one league (1977), one Intercontinental Cup (1975), three cups (1976, 1985 and 1992) and a Spanish Supercup (1985).

"As far as we're concerned about my father's figure, we're delighted, and as Atléticos, I think it's deserved. It is one more recognition and also comes from the institution. In personality, luck and everything, we identify his figure with that of the club and we are very happy that it is so," Luis Aragonés son said.

Our history is very present in the Wanda Metropolitano, with continuous references to the players who built it such as the Walk of Legends, the dressing room area, the players' access to the stadium, the main avenue to which Luis Aragonés gives his name, and also the Red & White membership card that serves as a tribute to our great legends. Next season it will be the figure of Luis Aragonés that all the atlético members proudly carry on their membership card.
