OUR LAST LEAGUE RIVAL WILL BE ATHLETIC, ALSO AT HOME

We will open at the Calderón against Alavés

We will start and finish the Championship at home. The draw for the next League calendar has provided that we open it at the Calderón against the newly promoted Alavés.

Our team’s first match of the 2016/17 season will be played at the Calderón on 21st August at 22:15 against a newly promoted, Deportivo Alavés, a team that has not visited our stadium since 2003. The second round will be played away against Leganés on the 27th of August at 22:15 and on the third round we will also play away against Celta on the 10th of September at 13:00. The last round of the League will be played at the red and white stadium. We will host Athletic de Bilbao on the weekend of 20/21st May of 2017. You can see all of our pairings here.

The 2016/17 League calendar is going to allow our team to stay in August in the Community of Madrid, since after opening the League at the Calderón against Alavés, we will be the first team in the First Division to visit Butarque to play the Leganés on the weekend of 27/28 August.

The first round of play will be peculiar in that we will have many hard matches away from the Calderón. On the 5th round, we will play our first match against Barcelona, and at the Camp Nou. It will be on Wednesday, 21st of September. Later, on round 7, we visit Mestalla to play Valencia. And on round 9, we will play against Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium. On round 15, we will visit Villarreal at El Madrigal and on the 19th round, against Athletic at San Mamés.

We will host Real Madrid at the Calderón on round 12, on 19/20 November

As for the derbies against Real Madrid, the white team will visit the Calderón on round 12, on the weekend of 19/20 November, just before playing the fifth round of the group phase of the Champions League. The second leg, at the Bernabéu, will take place on the weekend of 8/9 April.
