HE ACHIEVED IT AGAINST OSASUNA

Koke becomes the eighth player with the most appearances for a European club

Our captain overtook Sir Bobby Charlton in the match against Osasuna, reaching 747 appearances for a single club in Europe.

In the match against Club Atlético Osasuna at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Koke made his 747th appearance as an Atlético de Madrid player, moving ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton, the British football legend whom he had drawn level with in San Sebastián against Real Sociedad last Sunday.

Our captain now sits eighth in the all-time rankings, behind Jean-Luc Ettori (AS Monaco) and Giuseppe Bergomi (Inter), who both made 754 appearances for their respective Monaco and Italian clubs.

In this season, which has only just begun, Koke has not only Ettori and Bergomi within reach, but also Francesco Totti (785 appearances for AS Roma). Koke made his debut for the first team in September 2009 and has since recorded 50 goals and 122 assists.
