This Wednesday, we got back to work! Oblak, Adán, Juanfran, Stefan Savic, Thomas, Rodri, Vitolo, Correa, Gameiro and Vietto, those who didn't participate in the FIFA World Cup, began preparing for the new season. The group was completed by 17 players from our academy: San Román, Dos Santos, Solano, Aitor, Montero, Tachi, Manny, Carlos Isaac, Toni Moya, Mikel Carro, Olabe, Joaquín, Mollejo, Óscar, Camello, Borja Garcés and Cedric.
Rodri and Antonio Adán, our newest signings, trained as Atlético players for the first time. However, they weren't the only new additions to the team. Nelson Vivas lived his first experience as part of our coaching staff. He'll be an assistant manager to Diego Pablo Simeone and Germán Burgos. As a player Vivas played for Quilmes, Boca Juniors, Lugano, Arsenal, Celta de Vigo, Inter de Milán and River Plate and already formed a part of Simeone's coaching staff in Estudiantes and River Plate. He also had coaching stints at Quilmes and Defensa y Justicia. Alfredo Jarodiche also overlooked his first session, as he joined Óscar Ortega's fitness staff.
Savic had an individual training plan at the gym, as he's recovering from the pubis surgery he underwent in early June.
The lads will return to work on Thursday to prepare itself in the best possible way for the new season.
