ATLÉTICO DE MADRID VS. LILLE ON 23RD OCTOBER

The Riyadh Air Metropolitano will host the most inclusive match of the UEFA Champions League

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities can fully enjoy leisure events such as football.

Football is passion, emotion, and fun, but it is also a tool to transform society and make the world a fairer, more inclusive, and tolerant place. Under this premise, we continue working within the framework of our project ‘We Love Football', which on Wednesday 23rd October at 21:00 CEST, will aim to raise awareness about the importance of people with disabilities fully enjoying leisure events such as football.

This will take place during the Atlético de Madrid vs. Lille match, which is the third matchday of the Champions League league phase. The match will be the third edition of the Inclusive Match, which our club is promoting this season with the collaboration of World Football Summit, Integrated Dreams, AccessibAll, and Diario AS. This edition was announced during the World Football Summit Europe 2024 by the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz, who will be the patroness of the event, which will also feature the presence of Sara Holmgren, UEFA's expert in Social Sustainability, and Miguel Sagarra, Secretary General of the Spanish Paralympic Committee.

For the development of this initiative, our club has provided discounted tickets to various groups representing people with disabilities. Additionally, all associations or schools with people with disabilities who wish to participate in this great day for inclusion can contact us directly via the email [email protected].

Likewise, from 18:00 CEST in the fan zone of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, all Atlético fans and spectators attending the match will find a stand from the social group Once with information about different types of disabilities. They will also have the opportunity to meet the Spanish Blind Football Team as well as learn about and try out a new wheelchair sport called foothand. Additionally, at 19:00CEST, we will commemorate this unforgettable day by taking a group photo with the red-and-white flag, which will be a symbol of inclusion. We will soon reveal the match full programme and all the activities for this day on our website!

Additionally, our stadium will host the fifth International AccessibAll Summit on 13th and 14th November.
