The penalties take us to the quarter-finals
Atlético de Madrid booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a suffered match decided in a very long penalty shootout. Juanfran scored the decisive goal.

Suffered pass to the quarter-finals. Juanfran scored the deciding penalty in a shootout that needed 16 shots. The Calderón, which did not stop cheering during the match, the extra time and the penalties, carried the team. PSV had come in to tie and go to the penalties and that was its demise. Zoet had to work hard with a finish from Griezmann at the start of the match, and in the final stretch, another header by the Frenchman, on the few occasions there were.
After the half-time, the same script, although the Dutch club put a knot in the throats of the red and white fans with a shot from Locadia saved by Oblak who diverted it to the left post and the subsequent header from De Jong was saved by Filipe Luis. The response was swift and it was the same Brazilian winger who finished, Zoet deflected and the left footed drive from Carrasco was high. Griezmann tried again in the final minutes but met the Dutch goal keeper. And Torres met Zoet again with in a tremendous shot.We inevitably reached the extra time in which there were no changes, despite Atlético being the one trying. The pass had to be decided in the penalties. Narsingh sent his shot to the crossbar and Juanfran didn’t miss his. The Calderón exploded with joy like a year ago against Bayer Leverkusen. For the third consecutive year, Atlético de Madrid will be in the quarter-finals.
