SPECTACULAR PRESENTATION OF ATLÉTICO’S HOME KIT

The League Champion’s new shirt

Gabi, Koke, Raúl García and Manquillo presented the new home kit we’ll wear next season, which commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Intercontinental Cup, which we won in 1975.

The 2013 / 2014 season is already a part of our history’s most successful campaigns. Squandering heart and courage and risking it all game by game with a philosophy based on teamwork and a winning spirit, Simeone and his men ended up winning the League.

These values were also shown by the players defending our colours in 1975, when we conquered the Intercontinental Cup, beating Independiente de Avellaneda. Therefore, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of that glorious moment in our history, the home kit that our team will wear next season is inspired by the 1975 team.

In a guard similar to that worn at the time by Luis Aragonés, Adelardo, Irureta, Garate or Ayala among others, the shirt presents three wide stripes on the front and back, as well as a distinctive white box to display the players’ numbers on the back.

To add a subtle modern flourish, the shirt’s stripes have a tonal chevron graphic in the background on the front. The chevron also echoes the shape of the bottom of the Atlético club crest.

A new home kit to keep making history

In addition, the shirt features a unique blue polo neck collar with a v-shaped insert and high blue cuffs on the sleeves. Inside the neck is a pennant tab featuring the Spanish flag and ‘Campeón del Mundo 1975’ (World Champions) to once again commemorate one of our greatest ever achievements.

For their part, the new home shorts will be blue again with a white stripe along each side, while the new home socks are red with a white band at the top and a wide tonal stripe consisting of chevrons.

While this new kit features Nike’s signature design details, it also offers players the very latest in performance innovation, kit technology and environmental sustainability.

Reserve HERE the new red and white shirt. In stores, it will be available from June 6th at the Vicente Calderon Stadium official store and in specialized stores, and at nike.com from June 26th.

NIKE’S EXPERIENCE AT THE SERVICE OF THE CHAMPION

DRI-FIT TECHNOLOGY
Nike Dri-Fit technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. This helps players to perform at their absolute best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Nike continues to place environmental sustainability at the heart of their kits, which are again made from recycled polyester this year using an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. They have been created to provide both unrivalled performance benefits and lower environmental impact.

A NEW AND UPDATED PERFECT FIT
Nike took 3D body scans of many of the world’s leading footballers to create a kit with an updated and perfect new fit. The new fit allows the body to move more naturally within the kit, and so effortlessly improves players’ comfort and performance.

NIKE PRO BASELAYER
To provide players with the very best innovation for modern football, the Nike Pro baselayer to be worn underneath the match-day kit is the lightest ever and boasts increased breathability.
