The Foundation hands out 20,000 sanitary masks to the San Blas-Canillejas District Municipal Board
Our President Enrique Cerezo handed over the masks to Martín Casariego, District Councilor, in order to distribute them amongst the residents living around our stadium.
This morning at the Wanda Metropolitano, the Atlético de Madrid Foundation handed over 20,000 masks to the San Blas-Canillejas district. The masks will be distributed amongst our district neighbors. Enrique Cerezo, club President and our CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil greeted Martín Casariego, District Councilor, Mario Andranda, District Coordinator, and Municipal Advisors Javier Gámez and Eugenio Manzano at our stadium.
This was made possible by Idan Ofer, Atlético de Madrid shareholder, whose generous donation to our club and foundation brought us the possibility to count with a great number of sanitary and FF2P masks. Part of the donation has been distributed today, and the rest will be destined to other social initiatives promoted by our foundation.
Enrique Cerezo, club President, stated that “the San Blas neighborhood and its residents have welcomed the Wanda Metropolitano project with open arms right from the start. Their support has been fundamental, and these masks represent a small gesture of appreciation. During these months of hardship due to the health crisis, many vulnerable families have been affected.”
Martín Casariego expressed his gratitude towards the gesture: "Atlético de Madrid is one of our most emblematic and well-known neighbors around the world. This gesture demonstrates their solidarity and it makes us wear the red and white colors proudly in our hearts."
