Spectators will be able to enjoy mobile broadband in the Wanda Metropolitano
The club has reached an agreement with Cellnex Telecom for the next 10 years that will offer 2G, 3G and 4G coverage, and 5G in the future to the Spanish operators who want to provide this solution to their clients.
Connectivity will be one of the strong points of experiencing the Wanda Metropolitano. The club has reached a 10-year agreement with Cellnex Telecom, the main European independent operator of wireless infrastructure telecommunications, to offer real mobile broadband in our new stadium.
Cellnex Telecom will deploy an exclusive network of up to 250 antennas, remote units, fibre and equipment in the Wanda Metropolitano. Thanks to this pioneering infrastructure in Spanish sports venues, Cellnex Telecom will offer a flexible and neutral solution for 2G, 3G and 4G coverage, and in the future for 5G to all of our country’s operators that decide to offer this real mobile broadband service to their clients starting next September.
The solution that will be implemented in our stadium has been designed modularly, which will allow to balance the traffic of information of every sector in which the stadium will be divided to guarantee the best experience for spectators in every type of event.
In addition, it is scalable to be able to respond to bigger demands of information in the future. The agreement will place the Wanda Metropolitano at the forefront of mobile connectivity, joining other top football venues in Europe as San Siro or the Juventus Stadium, which have already implemented similar solutions by Cellnex Telecom.
