Simeone: "The start was full of intensity"
Diego Pablo Simeone said at a press conference that the team " knew how to interpret the game" the result puts the team in "a nice situation" taking the tally to 60 points and to the top of the league.
The coach from Buenos Aires made a brief summary of his game. "The start was very intense, with lines close together, with good ball pressure after a loss of possession and good ability to attack to get the game. It didn’t take long to find the openings in the game and and it allowed us to control the game. The second half was handled in the best way and we settled in to a very nice situation and we’ve now got 60 points in the Spanish league," he said.
The goals were an example of what this Atlético is, fast and good strategies. "When you talk about strategy the are many hours of tension, concentration, many hours of all work towards a situation, and the truth is we carried them out well. The second goal came from good vision in the pass and a good finish from Diego. It was convenient, fast and what I like is the intensity with which the team went out with," he reiterated.
Gradually, the team is recovering injured players. Something important to the chances of doing well in the championship. "It makes us happy that Mario is slowly beginning to recover. David came on for 20 minutes, which is a short time, but he did well. We just have Filipe and Manquillo out. Filipe could be back for Osasuna, we'll see." he said.
Competition within the team is huge. A crucially important things to look to do well in this competition. "The two-nil did not give me peace of mind, the three-nil more. From there we generate changes to rest some players, especially for giving minutes to others. We need all those who are out because when you need them they must come on in the best state. It's hard because you have to a few minutes but really making a big effort for the time when they are required to be at their best," he said.
