Diego Pablo Simeone firstly analysed the rival who will be visiting tomorrow in the home match. “Tomorrow we have a very important game, it’s a difficult rival, very similar to us in positioning and which we greatly respect. They have talented attacking midfielders and that allows them to make good combinations. In short, it will be an important game to continue along the same line”.

The Argentinian coach specified that the League and the Champions are two independent competitions in the players’ spirit. “It’s normal to be happy when a team wins, and when they tie or lose, they are less so. But when they have to play a match, all of them want to win, no matter the competition. Today we focus on the League, because we cannot deviate our attention, we need strength to win tomorrow”.

Additionally, he made reference to the non-regular players in this stretch of the season when asked about Diego’s great goal in the Camp Nou. “Diego has played quite a bit, and we need him just as we need Sosa, Cristian, Adrián, Toby, Insua… I’ve always said so. What’s important is the quality of the minutes the coach decides to give to you”.

Simeone encouraged the fans to go to the stadium, but not only that, but to also cheer for their team. “I focus on the game, on the stadium, on the people that will go and cheer, I encourage the people to come because there are few matches left and we need the fans to be one more”.

Lastly, he reminded, “Everything we’ve achieved historically has been through a lot of effort and humility. We have our weapons and in a match-by-match basis, we are close to competitive against anyone”, he concluded.
