REVIEWS HIS FIRST YEAR ON THE BENCH AT ATLETICO MADRID

Simeone: "It will be a very competitive game,"

The Atletico coach appeared before the media today to analyze the last game of the season against Levante.

Diego Pablo Simeone held a press conference in which he spoke about the value of Caparros on the bench of Levante. "It will be a very competitive game where we have to force the game to take it against a side that suits us and bring us closer to what we want. They are a team with top speed, good at set pieces and in which the collective give the sacrifices what Caparros asks," he said.

Simeone recalled his second year running at Atletico Madrid. "It’s been an important year for the club, for our fans, for the players who have made a huge effort to be competitive in everything we played. It is an incentive to keep improving and continue on the same path," he said.

In addition, the Argentine said after signing "one always hopes for the best. When I arrived at the first conference at the Calderón I recalled the historical situations of our club: an aggressive team with intensity, enthusiasm, with which people identify. I like to feel that when people go out on to the field they know what it is to play for this team, that is very difficult and these players have succeeded. Now we must continue working to grow as a team."

Simeone said that "we have this break that comes in handy. Players are going to work to come back in the best shape. We have training planned to go in to the games against Malaga and the Cup against Valencia in the best shape. It is an important week in terms of departures in January, but what concerns us now is Levante".

Finally, he recalled that "when the market opens I am open to all possibilities because this is football. The sports management knows our needs and will look if there is any possibility, but if not, no problem, we can wait and see what might happen," he said.
