Simeone: "It was a rounded game"
Simeone praised the work of his players against a Granada that fought hard in the second half until the 0-2.
Our coach said, "I think that it was a rounded game, continuing to be at the level that the team is showing, confident to pressure and quick on the counter-attack. We probably didn’t find the second goal so quickly so as to be calmer regarding the scoreboard, and that made Granada fight hard for a while in the second half, since it was playing at home. The second goal and Óliver and Thomas entering were very good. That generated a change of pace in the game and having more precision in the final metres, since the match was getting a bit complicated."
The dedication of the first goal to Tiago was noted by our coach. "You know the affection we have for Tiago. He’s an important man in our family. Obviously, the guys have wanted to dedicate the goal and it was a gesture for an extraordinary person and an important footballer of our family," he said.
He valued the work of the entire team by pointing out that "it’s one of our strengths that comes from the work of the forwards. Today, Griezmann scored a great goal but recovered two or three balls by sliding that were spectacular and that spreads to the group. We are looking to continue to grow in that line. Today, Torres, Griezmann, Carrasco, all made a huge effort.”
