Qualified for next year’s Champions League
Since Diego Pablo Simeone’s first full season in the dugout, the Rojiblancos have always directly qualified for the group stage – now the league phase – of the continent’s premier competition.
On Saturday, Atleti secured their spot in the Champions League next season. As such, we will play in the competition for the 21st season and, for the first time ever in the Club’s history, the 13th in a row under Diego Pablo Simeone.
Since his first full season as Atleti head coach, 2013/14, the Rojbiblancos have always qualified for the group stage – now known as the league phase – of the continent’s premier competition. This feat is matched only by Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG in the last 13 seasons, though Manchester City could do it in the coming days.
