Pérez Caminero: “It’s an even qualifying round”
José Luis Pérez Caminero, Atlético’s Sporting Director, answered Gianni Infantino’s question of what he thought about the draw that paired Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea, with the first leg at the Vicente Calderón and the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Given that Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea have already played the Champions and recently Europe’s Supercup, which we won in 2012, Caminero said, “This is completely different to the Supercup. I’m happy to be among these three excellent teams”.
He also said, “I believe it’s and even qualifying round. We’ll play our part as the team that wants to compete and fight. We’ll try to be as consistent as possible to our style. We’ll try to reach the final we have dreamt of, both for the players and for the fans final”.
