Pablo Barrios scores the second-fastest goal in our Champions League history
Our midfielder found the net against Manchester United just 49 seconds after kick-off.
Pablo Barrios reached a new milestone in our UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester United on Matchday 2. Our midfielder opened the scoring at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano shortly after the referee had blown for kick-off, finding the net after just 49 seconds.
As a result, he has scored the second-fastest goal by an Atlético player in the history of the UEFA Champions League. The record is held by Connor Gallagher, who scored after just 25 seconds against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 in 2025.
Our captain Koke is third on the list, having also scored at home against AS Monaco in November 2018, finding the net after 89 seconds in the group stage of the competition.
