On Thursday, we will find out our opponents in the Club World Cup
The list of 32 teams participating in next summer's Club World Cup in the United States is now complete. Atleti will be one of Spain’s representatives.
The FIFA Club World Cup, whose first edition in this new format will take place in the United States from 15th June to 13th July 2025, is taking shape. Botafogo, who qualified last weekend as Copa Libertadores champions, are the latest team to join the list of participants. This Thursday, at 19:00 CET, the draw will take place in Miami for a tournament that, starting with this edition, will be held every four years.
The draw pots are yet to be defined, but there will be eight groups of four clubs in the group stage. Each team will play three matches, and the top two from each group will advance to the round of 16. From there, the competition progresses to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. The participating clubs are as follows: Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid (Spain), Chelsea and Manchester City (England), Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Inter Milan and Juventus (Italy), Porto and Benfica (Portugal), PSG (France), Salzburg (Austria), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Urawa (Japan), Al Ain (UAE), Ulsan (South Korea), Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), ES Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Club León, Rayados, and Pachuca (Mexico), Inter Miami and Seattle Sounders (USA), Palmeiras, Fluminense, Flamengo, and Botafogo (Brazil), River Plate and Boca Juniors (Argentina), and Auckland City (New Zealand).
The host cities will be Miami (Hard Rock Stadium), Seattle (Lumen Field), Los Angeles (Rose Bowl), Orlando (Camping World Stadium and Inter&Co Stadium), Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium), Nashville (Geodis Park), Charlotte (Bank of America Stadium), Cincinnati (TQL Stadium), Washington DC (Audi Field), Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field), and New Jersey (MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford).
