Farewell, Lázaro
Our club joins the pain for the loss and conveys its sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Red & White family is in mourning. Lázaro Albarracín Martínez, Atlético de Madrid vice presidentsince 1988, has left us. A great atlético, loved by all the fans.
He was born in 1929 in Lorca, Murcia. At the age of 20 he moved to Madrid to do military service in Aviation and six months later he became a member of Atlético de Aviación. His passion for the club begins in the old Metropolitano, where he went since the early 50s. As a fan, he accompanied the team throughout his life on many of his trips.
Lázaro Albarracín became a member of the Atlético de Madrid board of directors in 1987. First of all as a president of Atlético Madrileño in Segunda B. After that, representing Atlético de Madrid all over the country and the world, always being an excellent club ambassador.
Furthermore, he was closely linked to the Peñas Atléticas. As social vice president of the club, he has visited all the Peñas of our Atleti in Spain, where he has represent the institution and has always received the love from all the fans.
A great atlético who dedicated a large part of his life to his soul club and whose last wish was to be buried with Atleti flag is leaving.
Our president, CEO, the rest of the members of the Board of Directors and all the employees want to convey our most sincere condolences and we join the pain of the family. Rest in peace.
