Last minute defeat
Cádiz took three agonising points after a crazy end to the game. João Félix's brace was not enough at the Nuevo Mirandilla.
Cádiz and Atleti closed out a crazy match with goals from the first to the last minute. The home side took all three points thanks to Rubén Sobrino's last-minute goal. João Félix scored a brace.
In the first play the home side took the lead when Pacha Espino ran onto a through ball. The Uruguayan full-back put in a low, tense cross to the penalty spot where Bongonda hooked a first-time left-footed shot past Oblak.
Cunha came on for a sore Morata after ten minutes. The Brazilian looked for partnerships with Correa and De Paul, who continued to insist on the Red & White offensive.
Cádiz started the second half with the same energy as the first. Trying to be incisive and intense to create danger to the red and white defence. This time they were able to withstand the initial onslaught from the home side.
The game entered a few minutes of little action that would be broken by Álex Fernández with ten minutes to go. The captain beat Oblak with a left-footed shot after chested the ball down inside the area.
The home side continued to fight for the game and João Félix spiced things up with a scissor-kick in the 85th minute, which after touching a Cádiz defender ended up in the goal for 2-1. Three minutes later, the Portuguese striker was in the game again. João unleashed a tremendous right-footed shot from just beyond the edge of the area to equalise.
João had the third on his head in one of the last chances of the game. The Portuguese shot just wide from a cross from the right that almost had Ledesma in trouble under the sticks. From the chance for the home side, it was time for a final Cadiz counter-attack that saw the home side score to leave the three points in Cadiz after a crazy end to the game.
