BOTH PARTIES AGREE TO ACTIVATE THE ANNUAL RENEWAL CLAUSE IN THE CAPTAIN’S CONTRACT

Koke to continue making history at Atlético de Madrid

The first-team captain and player with the most appearances in the club’s history extends his contract until 30 June 2026.

Jorge Resurrección, known as Koke, will continue to wear the red and white of Atlético de Madrid next season after extending his contract with the club until 30 June 2026. His current deal includes an annual renewal clause at the end of each season, which both parties have agreed to activate.

The homegrown midfielder made his first-team debut on 19 September 2009. Since then, he has made history at the club he has supported his whole life, becoming, match by match, the player with the most appearances in Atlético de Madrid’s history: 681.

Koke is also one of the most decorated players in club history. To date, he has won eight trophies – two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, two UEFA Europa Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup – placing him just behind Adelardo, who lifted ten trophies during his time at the club.

Miguel Ángel Gil was alongside our captain on the day it was confirmed that he will continue writing more chapters in Atlético de Madrid’s storied history.

Congratulations, Koke!
