Koke re-joined the group after being with the under 21s
Koke was the first international back to work ahead of the game against Valencia. Diego Costa and Luis Filipe will return this afternoon for a recovery session.
Atletico Madrid continue with the preparation for the match against Valencia. And in Tuesday's session Koke rejoined the group, having played with the Under-21 in the two friendlies against Norway on Thursday and Monday against Russia. Atletico trained for an hour and a half under a persistent rain. Óliver Torres and Manquillo from Atletico B, trained with the first team.
The group began with a physical circuit including ball work. The work was divided into groups. On one hand, some performed an exercise in speed and endurance, with a slalom and dribbling. Other performing an exercise of power and speed, lifting some weights and ending with a shot on a mini goal. And another of speed and endurance with a resistance harness.
Seven players from from Atletico C joined the session: Jesús, Aquino, Josito, Ian, Gregorio, Iván Calero & Samaniego. While the first team worked in smaller group with Juan Vizcaino and Germán Burgos. They came together for a joint tactical session in two parts of the pitch. On one hand, a group wored on attack-defense without keepers with the emphasis on the defensive. Meanwhile, the other group did an exercise in control, passing and shot with the two goalkeepers, Asenjo and Jesus. The session ended with crossing and shots on goal. Manquillo and Oliver worked down the right and Koke and Insua on the left, while Raul Garcia and Adrian finished the crosses.
