Juanfran, 150 League games as an Atlético
Two red and white pillars meet a round figure in the Ipurúa. Juanfran adds his 150th League game with the red and white shirt, while Godín adds his 250th game, 159 of them with Atlético.
Juanfran and Godín, two of the fixed players in the eleven of Diego Pablo Simeone, have reasons to celebrate. The player from Alicante adds 150 League matches as an Atlético since he arrived in the middle of the 2010/11 season. Juanfran has become indisputable in the eleven since the arrival of Diego Pablo Simeone to our club, being the right winger. Occasionally, he even has had to play on the left side, managing perfectly.
Juanfran has conquered with our club a League, a King’s Cup, a Cup, a Europa League, a UEFA Super Cup and a Spanish Super Cup. He has been a full international and participated in the win of a UEFA European Championship with Spain in 2012.
For his part, Diego Godín adds 250 matches in the First Division since he came to Spain to play for Villarreal. With the ‘yellows’ he played 91 League matches which, added to the 159 played with the red and white, make the Pharaoh to add a round figure in our League. Godín is one of the strongholds of Simeone’s team, besides one of the captains. He is a basic player, who has recently extended his link with our entity until 2019.
Godín is part of the history of the club for soring the goal that gave us the tenth League title. Along with this title, he has added a King’s Cup, a Europa League, two King’s Cup and a Spanish Super Cup.
