HE REACHED 746 ATLETI APPEARANCES IN SAN SEBASTIÁN

Koke equals Sir Bobby Charlton

Our captain moves into eighth place in the ranking of players to have made the most appearances for a single club in the history of European football, matching the English football legend.

Koke Resurrección continues to cement his legacy as an Atlético de Madrid player and captain. After reaching the iconic milestone of 700 appearances for our club last season, he has added another landmark this campaign.

Following his 746th appearance in the red and white shirt at Anoeta, Koke has moved into eighth place in the ranking of players to have represented a single club in Europe, matching the legendary British footballer Sir Bobby Charlton.

The Englishman represented Manchester United for almost 20 seasons, making 746 appearances for the Red Devils.

The player at the top of this historic ranking is another Briton, Ryan Giggs. The Welshman made 963 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions. Completing the top three are Paolo Maldini (901 appearances for AC Milan) and Javier Zanetti (858 for Inter Milan).

Active player with the most seasons in the Spanish top flight

In LaLiga, our captain is the active player to have spent the most consecutive seasons at the same top-flight club, with 15 campaigns to his name. His closest pursuers are our goalkeeper Jan Oblak and José Luis Gayà of Valencia CF, each with 12 consecutive seasons.
