Griezmann: "What was important was winning"
Antoine Griezmann, Jesús Gámez and Matías Kranevitter answered the media in the mixed zone of the Vicente Calderón.
Griezmann, scorer of the only goal of the match, said: “What was important was winning. On a personal level, I scored and I am happy. But we have to rest because there is a nice match on Tuesday. We will try to get a good result there to reach the final."
For his part, Kranevitter said: "It was a difficult and complicated game. The goal was to win and we were able to do so. It was harder because Rayo is in an uncomfortable position and had to win. We knew how they played and won the three points at home, which was the important thing."
Lastly, Gámez spoke about Tuesday’s Champions League match: "We face it with eagerness, with excitement. Now, we have to recover to be ready for that game. The hope, the ambition that we always have, that is what will lead us to the success we hopefully will have.”
