Atlético de Madrid took the field of the Santiago Bernabéu with very clear ideas. The team was solid and steady in defence and halfway into the first half, went to the top to make trouble for their eternal rival. Because Oblak only had to intervene once in the first half to a free-kick from Ronaldo after the thirty minute mark. Augusto had warned on 10 minutes with a deflected shot, but the danger came with a sublime move on 40’ with a drive from Griezmann which Navas deflected to the corner. Immediately after that, Koke tried again with a measured shot that also went to the corner.
The script for the second half was similar to that of the end of the first one, with a very sure Atlético and a Real Madrid that struggled to build its game. However, in an isolated move, Ronaldo warned with a crossed shot that went out. The answer from our team was an extraordinary play by Griezmann who gave it to Filipe Luis and the Brazilian provided him with a golden ball that the French sent to the net.
