Gabi: "We will fight to the end"

Gabi who sponsors the awareness campaign against prostate cancer, analyzed after the event held at the VIP Lounge at Vicente Calderón , the current situation of Atletico.

The press spoke with our captain at the end of the announcement of the campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which will be held during the match against Espanyol this Saturday. "We have earned the respect talked by all players and, above all , the desire to keep people dreaming and nobody can take that away from us . People still enjoy with your team and we are in the position we wanted to be", said the midfielder.

Nobody gave anything to the team of Simeone ,and if today where they are, is the "great work". "We are a hard working team and what we have we have we earned working for has cost us a lot to get where we are . We are where we want to be worth the Copa del Rey final we all wanted , but we are in a very comfortable position to be all the way in all competitions", he said.

We are proud of what we have achieved and we will continue working to improve ourselves

As for the league, Gabi said there is a little remaining to the end so that the team will struggle to come up with many options to the end. "We are in the last eleven days of the competition. We are very excited, as our fans and we will fight to the end. I think the team has done an amazing effort, from players to coaches to fight against the most powerful rivals, and now it is time to fight to the end. Surely this is a vital time of the competition for the few days remaining. If we remove these four competition days in a row, there is not much left. We will fight to be on top of the competition table from now to the end", he reiterated.

The quarter-final rivals will all be dangerous. "We believe that the 8 remaining in Champions will be very tough. There is much talk of Bayern Munich, regarding the strong way they win, and also we acknowledge the potential of the two Spanish teams left in the competition". However, the captain´s pried for the team is superior to any rival. "Beyond the rivals, we're proud of what we do and we are working to improve ourselves", he confirmed .

Gabi recalled the atmosphere of the fans in the match against Milan and he assured that "it amazes me to see how people enjoy and how they identify themselves with the team. There is nothing more beautiful in football than that. We want to continue like this and reward the great effort they do”, he concluded.
