Gabi: "We have at stake being a part of the history of the club"

Fernando Torres and Gabi answered the media in the VIP Box of the Vicente Calderón, where they analysed the mood of their teammates before playing Bayern. Atlético’s '14' said that the favourite in the qualifying round is the German team. "Before starting the seasons, nobody would say we are the favourites, but with our enthusiasm, way of working, and our lifestyle, we are making people excited and we are competing with the best. We have at stake being a part of the history of the club, today we turn 113 and I think there is nothing better than playing with that, so I am sure that people will respond. We are very excited and we have earned this opportunity," he concluded. 

The red and white '9' said that, "What we want now is to write a new history. We are ready to do so. We have a fantastic opportunity ahead of us, a beautiful knockout round, fun and very complicated, against one of the favourites, no doubt. And what we want is to write a new history. That is why we are here. Hopefully, in a week, we can say that we have taken one more small step."
