First day of work in Los Angeles de San Rafael

Atletico completed the first day of training in Los Angeles de San Rafael. The team are at a training camp there for the nexy two weeks so that they will get in to the right physical shape to tackle the season in perfect condition.

They start training in Los Angeles de San Rafael. Upon arrival in the evening yesterday at Tryp Naiad, the squad will stay for two weeks at the resort before ending their stay with a friendly on July 21st in a match against Numancia in the Sorian town of Burgo de Osma. The concentration in Segovia will be very important to the fitness of the players in the face of the challenges posed by the 2013-14 season.

Diego Pablo Simeone has decided to take the following players with him to Segovia: Courtois, Asenjo, Bono, Juanfran, Pulido, Miranda, Cabrera, Filipe, Insua, Gabi, Mario Suarez, Tiago, Koke, Raul Garcia, Ruben Perez, Adrian, Diego Costa, Pizzi, Arda Turan, Leo Baptistão, Pedro, Borja, Nacho Monsalve, Milla, Ivan Alejo Aquino and Samuel Villa. A total of 27 players who will be available to Argentine coach. Godin, Cristian Rodriguez, José María Giménez, Óliver Torres, Javi Ñiguez Manquillo and Saul will join over the next few days.

The morning session began at 7:30 am. After breakfast, the full quad went to the gym (08h30) for fitness for work. After the exercise, lasting about 30 minutes, the players went to the golf course where they underwent coordination exercises, agility and, above all, the ball was involved. Everyone was there except Diego Costa, Miranda and keepers Courtois, Asenjo and Bono did specific exercises on the football field. This training on grass lasted 90 minutes.

At 18.00 they started training late on the football field of urbanization Segovia. The Argentine Cata Díaz joined the group that participated in the morning session. Oscar Ortega, trainer of the first team, led the first part of the training. 45 minutes of abdominal exercises and a circuit which worked muscle group. The two hours of work were completed with ball work with working groups and defensive tactical coordination.

Wednesday July 10th will be the first day with three workout. The first will start at 7:45 on the lawn, continue at midmorning in the gym and end at 6pm on the football field.
