Find out who we will face in the UCL League Phase
Here are the eight sides we will play in the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League.
Following the draw this Thursday evening in Monaco, Atleti has discovered which eight sides lie ahead of them in the League Phase of the Champions League.
Our opponents are:
- Leipzig: W1 | Thursday, Sep. 19 at 9pm CET | Cívitas Metropolitano.
- Benfica: W2 | Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 9pm CET | Estádio da Luz (Lisbon, Portugal).
- Lille: W3 | Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 9pm CET | Cívitas Metropolitano.
- Paris Saint-Germain: W4 | Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 9pm CET | Parc des Princes (Paris, France).
- Sparta Praha: W5 | Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6:45pm CET | epet ARENA (Prague, Czech Republic).
- S. Bratislava: W6 | Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6:45pm CET | Cívitas Metropolitano.
- Leverkusen: W7 | Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 9pm CET | Cívitas Metropolitano.
- Salzburg: W8 | Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9pm CET | Red Bull Arena (Salzburg, Austria).
The format of the competition has changed this season. 36 sides will participate in the League Phase. Each team will play eight games against eight different opposition. Once the League Phase has concluded, the top eight sides will go through automatically to the Round of 16. The teams finishing between 9th and 24th, will participate in a playoff phase with home and away ties. Finally, sides finishing between 25th and 36th will be eliminated from the competition.
