Fernando Torres was one of the players in charge of answering the media in the press conference prior to the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid. Our forward assured that it is a very special match for him. "Without a doubt, it’s the most important, the most special match that I've played in my whole career. Anything that I can achieve with the club that gave me the opportunity to play football, the club I was a fan of since I was five years old, will be different from any other final. I’ve been lucky enough to win many things with Chelsea, with the Spanish national team, but this is special, it’s different. It’s everything you dream of when you're a child, and tomorrow I have the opportunity to turn this dream into a reality," he noted.

The red and white '9' also highlighted the difficulty of the match since the rival is one of the best teams in the world. "It's a great club, they are one of the best in the world without a doubt. We live in the same city with them, and that makes us more eager to fight, very hopeful to get to change history, we have a chance to write a page in the history of Atlético de Madrid that no-one has written yet," he said.

A player from the ranks such as Fernando Torres also spoke of the importance of the academy and praised the great work both Koke and Saúl have done throughout their careers. "One of the nicest things this group has achieved is that it makes outsiders understand how important it is to play for this club, every party, every action, every gesture, and when I came back, that is what I also learnt from the people who have been in the club in this last stretch."
