Diego will play at Atletico until end of season

Diego Ribas da Cunha is a new player of Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian playmaker has committed to end the season with our club, upon completion of a medical. The midfielder returns to his former home in the 2011-12 season, where he won the UEFA Europa League achieving one of the goals in the final in Bucharest. Diego was instrumental in achieving this title and will be under the command of Diego Pablo Simeone in this crucial part of the season.

The player was delighted with his return to our club, "I feel a big emotion. Back with a squad where felt fantastically well. I am very excited. I’m just thinking about getting to work to help the team keep winning." The Brazilian says the big moment of Atletico is not a surprise to him: "It was a matter of time before this Atlético reached where it is. I already saw the potential of the team and the club when I was here."

And the midfielder is committed to "providing what I did before. The management team is clear, our coach knows where to take us, and so I come to help take this path. I am very happy to be part of such a strong group, one of the form teams in Europe."

Finally, Diego pointed his desire to meet back up with the great friends he has in the squad: "I’ve not been able to talk to anyone but certainly soon we will talk. I'm anxious to see them. In Madrid I feel at home."
