Diego Costa is a candidate for the FIFA FIFPro best striker

The Atletico striker bids to be selected in the World XI team to be announced on January 13th at the Balon d’or Gala

FIFA and FIFPro announced on Monday 9th of December the 15 shortlisted candidates in the position of striker for the FIFA / FIFPro World XI award in its 2013 edition. The goals and performances of Diego Costa in the red and white shirt in recent seasons have earned the Hispanic - Brazilian striker the right to be classed in this select group of football players that will make up the three strikers in the World XI 2013.

The list of players who accompany Diego Costa are the following attackers: Sergio Agüero (Manchester City FC / Argentina), Mario Balotelli (Italy / AC Milan) , Edison Cavani ( Uruguay / AS Napoli - Paris Saint- Germain FC), Neymar da Silva (Brazil / FC Barcelona) , Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos (Portugal / Real Madrid CF), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast / Galatasaray SK), Radamel Falcao (Colombia / Atletico Madrid - AS Monaco FC), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden / Paris Saint- Germain FC), Robert Lewandowski (Poland / Borussia Dortmund), Mario Mandzukic (Croatia / FC Bayern Munich) , Lionel Messi (Argentina / FC Barcelona), Robin van Persie (Netherlands / Manchester United FC) , Wayne Rooney (England / Manchester United FC) and Luis Suarez ( Uruguay / Liverpool FC) .
