The tests that the midfielder underwent confirmed that he had a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, 27th of September, the Argentinian was operated in the Cemtro Clinic and after several hours of surgery, there were no complications in the procedure. The operation was performed by Dr. Pedro Guillén and Drs. Isabel and Marta Guillén. The head of the medical services of the Atlético de Madrid, Jose Maria Villalón and Daniel Martínez, doctor of Argentina’s national team, were present during the surgical procedure.
