MATCH PREVIEW | ATLÉTICO DE MADRID – VALENCIA

Targeting a second win this week

Our team faces Valencia this Saturday at 14:00 CET at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in what will be our second match of the week, following the victory over PSV.

Atlético return to LaLiga action this Saturday after the midweek Champions League win against PSV (3-2). Our side take on Valencia at 14:00 CET in what will be the final match of the year at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

In the previous LaLiga fixture, before the triumph in Eindhoven, Simeone’s men narrowly lost at San Mamés against Athletic Club. That result left us fourth in the table on 31 points. Home form, however, has been superb, with 10 consecutive victories across LaLiga and the Champions League.

Valencia, meanwhile, come into the match sitting 16th with 15 points. Carlos Corberán’s side are unbeaten in their last five games, in which they have recorded two wins – one in LaLiga and one in the Copa del Rey – and three draws, all of them interestingly coming in the same 1-1 scoreline – the most recent of which came last Sunday away to Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Our meetings with Valencia last season yielded a pair of 3-0 victories, with goals from Gallagher, Griezmann and Julián Álvarez securing the last home win at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
