Atlético de Madrid, qualified for the 2025 Club World Cup
Thanks to the score obtained in the last four years in Europe, we ensure our presence in the first edition of the new Club World Cup.
Atlético de Madrid is mathematically qualified for the first edition of the new Club World Cup system that will be held in the United States in 2025.
This new format of the Club World Cup will have a group stage system with four teams in each of the eight groups. The first two in each group will qualify for a single-match final phase from which a winner will emerge. The system to qualify for this World Cup has two access routes: 12 places correspond to the teams associated with UEFA, 4 are destined for the champions of the Champions League from the 2020-21 edition to the current edition and the other 8 are distribute according to the UEFA ranking.
In addition to Atlético de Madrid, those are the qualified so far for this Club World Cup : Manchester City (England), Al Ahly SC (Egypt), Palmeiras (Brazil), Flamengo (Brazil), Real Madrid (Spain), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Wydad AC (Morocco), Chelsea (England), Fluminense (Brazil), Urawa Reds Diamonds (Japan), Club León (Mexico), Monterrey (Mexico), Seattle Sounders (USA), Bayern Munich ( Germany), PSG (France), Inter Milan (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Benfica (Portugal), Juventus (Italy) and Auckland City (New Zealand).
