MATCH PREVIEW | GIRONA - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atleti face important challenge at Montilivi stadium

Simeone's side, who haven't lost any of the last 10 LaLiga games, face one of the most in-form teams in the competition, who arrived at matchday 14 just three points off the Champions League.

Atleti face a very interesting and challenging game on Sunday between two of the most in-form teams in LaLiga. The matchday 14 game will see our team face Girona at Montilivi stadium at 4.15 p.m. CET.

Our team, which hasn't lost any of the last 10 LaLiga games, is to play another in-form team, Girona, who have gone five matches without losing. Thanks to these streaks, Atleti arrived at matchday 14 just two points behind leaders Sevilla, and Eusebio Sacristán's side only three points off the Champions League.
In fact, Girona currently have 20 points, three more than last season, in which they enjoyed a brilliant debut in LaLiga and almost qualified for the Europa League.

Eusebio Sacristán's team have so far earned more points away from home (12) than at their stadium (eight). In their last game, they earned a 3-1 win against Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. Stuani scored two.

The Uruguayan striker, who is LaLiga's top scorer with 10 goals, will be one of the biggest threats to the Atleti defence. Simeone's side are currently the team who has conceded the least goals (seven) alongside Valencia.

Therefore, this will be a challenging game against a strong side. In last season's match at Montilivi stadium, our team came back from behind to earn a 2-2 draw, after having gone 2-0 down in the first half.

We will also meet three familiar faces again: former Academy goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, former Atleti player in the 1987/88 season and current Girona coach Eusebio Sacristán and Atleti legend and current Girona President Delfí Geli.
