Our Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has been named the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League Player of the Season, ahead of Diego Godin and Dimitri Payet.
In total, Griezmann scored six goals in the tournament last season. However he saved his best performance for last. In the final at the Stade de Lyon against Olympique Marseille, he scored a brace in our 3-0 win and was named MVP of the final.
Due to our league match this Saturday against Celta de Vigo, Griezmann couldn't personally receive the award at the Forum Grimaldi in Monaco. However, he thanked those who voted for him and helped him win this prize through a video.
