WELL DESERVED, ANTOINE

Antoine Griezmann nominated for 2018 The Best FIFA Men's Player

Our striker has had a brilliant year and won the UEFA Europa League and FIFA World Cup with France.

Antoine Griezmann has been nominated for the 2018 The Best FIFA Men's Player Award after his tremendous performances for club and country in the period of 3 July 2017 to 15 July 2018. The other nominees are: Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Mohamed Salah and Raphael Varane.

In this period, Griezmann won the UEFA Europa League and the FIFA World Cup with France. In our Europa League success, Griezmann scored two goals in the final in our 3-0 win to give us the trophy. Meanwhile, he was the MVP of the World Cup Final against Croatia and had a hand in two goals.

But winning two trophies isn't the only reason our Frenchman was nominated for the prestigious award. Griezmann has also had a stunning year in all competitions for club and country. All in all, he scored 35 times in official matches,  37 counting friendly matches with the France National Team, and gave 20 assists.

The winner of The Best FIFA Men’s Player award will be selected by an international jury comprising the current coaches of all men’s national teams (one per team), the current captains of all men’s national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans from all over the world registered on FIFA.com. The winner will be announced on 24 September in London.

Everyone at Atlético de Madrid is proud of your achievements this year, Antoine. Keep it up!
