Antoine Griezmann becomes 5th top scorer in Atleti history
With his goal against Real Madrid, the striker has equaled Fernando Torres as our club's fifth ever goalscorer.
Antoine Griezmann continues to make history as a Red & White. With his goal against Real Madrid, the Frenchman has equaled Fernando Torres as Atleti's fifth ever goalscorer with 129 goals
Our number 7, who netted his first goal for our club on Sep. 16, 2014 against Olympiakos, has scored some very important goals such as the first one ever at the Wanda Metropolitano against Málaga, his two strikes against Olympique Marseille in the 2018 Europa League final, his hat-tricks against Athletic Club and Sevilla or his four goals against Leganés on Feb. 28, 2018. All these goals will go down in Atleti history. Four years and five months after his opener, the Frenchman reached his 129th goal during Saturday's match against Real Madrid.
With his latest goal at the Wanda Metropolitano, Griezmann's tally now stands at 90 goals in LaLiga, 21 in the Champions League, six in the Europa League and 12 in the Copa del Rey. Ahead of him remain Luis Aragonés (172 goals), Escudero (169), Campos (146) and Gárate (136).
Congratulations, Antoine!
